DataScan Field Services (DFS) will inspect any vehicle or motorcycle from 1981 to current year. Have peace of mind, knowing that the vehicle you are selling, have purchased, or are planning to purchase has been thoroughly inspected by one of our highly skilled field specialists. As part of our inspection process, every facet of your vehicle is thoroughly inspected (exterior, interior, wheels and tires, electrical, mechanical and underbody) and each unique characteristic is identified. The engine compartment and trunk areas are also checked for prior repairs, as well as any obvious defects not visible from the outside of the vehicle.
All of DFS’ field specialists undergo extensive training to ensure that each inspection conducted is handled with the utmost professionalism and produces accurate results. Once a vehicle inspection is scheduled, a field specialist is dispatched to the client’s location of choice. Upon arrival, our field specialist will present proper identification and conduct an in-depth inspection, using DFS’ state-of-the-art Internet-based technology, in approximately one hour!
The comprehensive vehicle inspection performed by DataScan Field Services includes an assessment of the following:
Exterior
- Damage – structural, existing and prior; inadequate repairs
- Alignment of panels
- Proper operation of doors, hood, and trunk
- Unusual discovery that may impact the vehicle’s value
Wheels & Tires
- Damage – structural and cosmetic
- Tire size - manufacturer and tread depth (including spare)
Electrical
- Gauges, lights, seats, mirrors, windows, sound system, air conditioning, and movable roof components
Interior
- Damage to upholstery (tears, stains, burns, etc.) and/or vehicle interior
- All Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment is present including handles, knobs, switches, etc.
- Listing and identification of accessories and after-market products
Mechanical
- Verification of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Mileage verification
- Fluid levels and condition of fluids
- Motor is checked for problems that can be identified visually and/or by hearing, while engine is at operating temperature
- Transmission engagement
Underbody
- Evidence of frame, flood, collision damage
- Rust, corrosion, fluid leakage
- Exhaust system and underbody parts (oil pan, transmission, suspension, etc.)
